The highly anticipated “The Grand Vision Through Brush and Nature — A-Fu Lu Oil Painting Solo Exhibition” will officially open at 10:00 a.m. on September 23. Veteran media professional Tang Yu-shu will host the opening ceremony, and a live musical performance will welcome guests. Members of the public are warmly invited to attend.

A-Fu Lu is a successful entrepreneur who began bringing his colorful world to the canvas after turning seventy. Six years ago, he held his first solo exhibition in the lobby of Shu-Tien Hospital in Taipei, drawing attention from the city’s art community. Since then, invitations to participate in both group and solo exhibitions have continued, creating a growing wave of interest in his work.

Lu’s dedication to artistic creation is no less intense than that of younger painters. He immerses himself in his work, often forgetting to eat or sleep. He says that once he picks up a brush, he cannot stop; he works in one continuous flow until he reaches a state of complete absorption and self-forgetfulness. Traces of Impressionism can be found in his distinctive style, particularly in his refined handling of light and shadow. His bold use of color, well-structured compositions, and wide-ranging subject matter combine elements of Western Impressionism with the spirit of Eastern aesthetics. He paints not only famous overseas landscapes but also has a deep affection for Taiwan’s mountains and coastlines. His majestic depictions of Yushan are especially popular with collectors, while every flower and blade of grass from his hometown serves as both inspiration and nourishment for his art.
